We partnered with North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) to produce two vibrant animation film shorts supporting their mission to reach Net Zero by 2030. The result? A pair of characterful, educational films that celebrate the region’s distinctive wildlife, scenic coastlines and community spirit — while clearly outlining the practical steps we all need to take to protect it.
An Overview
This was our process
We worked closely with NNDC to distil their Environmental Charter into two concise, story-led animation film shorts designed to resonate across schools, businesses, and local groups. From the start, we knew these pieces needed to feel unmistakably Norfolk. That meant recognisable landmarks, colourful creatures, and a tone that balanced warmth with urgency.
With a tight turnaround in place, our team jumped straight into concepting. From Brogan and Conner’s textured illustrations to the layered, panoramic animation style crafted by the motion team, every scene was designed to guide viewers through Norfolk’s unique environments — from sandy dunes and pine woods to bustling market towns and seagull-laden piers.
The narrative was supported by a thoughtful voiceover script and charming characters who helped audiences see themselves within the bigger picture. Each animation short film was ultimately used across NNDC’s social channels, in schools, and within council-led engagement sessions — giving the message both reach and impact.

Research & Strategy
Mapping Norfolk’s Wild Side
Creating these animation shorts meant getting the details right — from architectural silhouettes to the region’s lesser-known wildlife. NNDC provided us with a clear brief, and our team dove into research, gathering references and location imagery to ensure authenticity.
We explored key issues such as biodiversity, flood prevention, renewable energy, and waste reduction — all through a lens that felt accessible, visually engaging, and relevant to North Norfolk’s communities.
The Outcome
Illustrated, Animated, Impactful
We produced two bold and textured animation film shorts that:
- Explained NNDC’s climate initiatives in a clear and engaging format
- Reflected the unique beauty of the Norfolk coast and countryside
- Used storytelling to educate and inspire action
- Were flexible enough to be used across schools, social media, and council events
By incorporating panoramic camera movements, distinctively local iconography and a naturalistic palette, we delivered work that matched the ambition of the council’s Environmental Charter.

The Impact
Building Momentum for Climate Action
The films were used across digital platforms, in public presentations and within community groups to raise awareness of the climate challenges facing North Norfolk. NNDC praised the clarity and visual impact of the work, and it continues to be a useful tool in encouraging public engagement around the Environmental Charter.
