Emergency Response Plan
Acteon
The Brief
Explaining what to do when your floating wind turbine decides to float off with style and clarity
Sectors: Energy | Offshore | Engineering | Safety
Services: Animation
When you’re floating out at sea, you need a plan.
Acteon came to us with a crucial message to share: why floating wind operators need an Emergency Response Plan.
Working closely with their team, we developed a clear and visually engaging company animation that broke down the technical risks — and outlined the smart solutions — in a way that was accessible and memorable. It’s a story about preparedness, engineering, and ocean-based problem solving.

Building a brand voice, one frame at a time
From the first conversation, it was clear that accuracy and tone were everything. Acteon provided us with a rough storyboard and asked for support tightening the script, refining the structure, and developing a visual approach that would bring clarity and energy to a serious topic.
With their reference animation in mind, we created a bespoke treatment that built on our earlier work with Acteon — but added a richer, more hand-drawn feel. Brogan’s textured style gave the film depth and personality, while remaining grounded in technical realism. Acteon provided reference photos and diagrams to ensure visual accuracy, and we worked closely with them throughout production to get every last detail right.
After trimming the script for better pacing (and keeping the animation closer to 2:30 for improved viewer engagement), we moved into production. Low-frame-rate movement, subtle parallax, animated key phrases, and organic textures all combined to create a film that was as informative as it was visually compelling.
“Well, it’s a wrap! We love it!
It looks really good!”

Research & Strategy
Engineering accuracy, animated clearly
A subject like mooring failure demands precision. Throughout production, Acteon shared technical references and offshore imagery to ensure all the illustrations we created were not just beautiful; but correct.
Our role was to balance realism with visual clarity. We developed an animation style that could move fluidly between surface-level operations and subsea complexity, always maintaining a sense of scale and urgency.

The Outcome
A technical explainer with style and impact
We delivered a sophisticated, detailed company animation that:
- Explained the risks and realities of mooring system failure
- Clearly introduced the value of having an Emergency Response Plan
- Maintained Acteon’s technical credibility through accurate illustration
- Balanced clarity with atmosphere, depth, and design
Through strong art direction, considered motion, and a carefully refined script, we helped Acteon communicate a complex message with confidence and elegance.
