Real People. Real Careers. Real Norwich!
How do you sell a city without making it feel like you’re selling a city? For Work in Norwich, the answer was simple: let the people who live and work here do the talking.
We created a series of short, interview-led case study films following people building their careers in Norwich. Rather than relying on scripted messaging or traditional corporate interviews, each film centres on one individual, their work, their life and their relationship with the city.
The result is a series that feels warm, personal and genuinely lived-in. Beautifully cinematic, but always grounded in reality.

The Concept
We built the visuals around the story, not the other way around.
We wanted every case study film to feel like a portrait rather than a testimonial. So instead of arriving with a predetermined shot list and trying to fit somebody’s story around it, we flipped the usual production process on its head.
We recorded the interviews first at our Norwich studio, keeping the conversations relaxed and informal. No autocues. No rigid scripts. Just genuine conversations about careers, ambitions, life in Norwich and what makes someone choose to stay here. From there, we created the interview edit first.
Once we knew exactly what each contributor’s story was, we could build a bespoke shot list around their words. Every location, action and visual moment had a purpose — allowing the images to add to the story rather than simply illustrate it.

Final Thoughts
Place-marketing case study films don’t have to be sweeping drone shots and someone telling you a city is a great place to live. Sometimes the best way to show what makes somewhere special is simply to spend time with the people who have chosen to make a life there.
By putting individual stories first, the Work in Norwich films show the city through lived experience rather than a list of selling points. Real careers, real lives and a very cinematic Norwich.
