Body Positivity in Motion
For our latest animation with MAP (Mancroft Advice Project), we were asked to tackle something both incredibly personal and widely relevant: how we feel about our bodies — and how those feelings are shaped by the world around us. The result is a short but powerful film exploring body image, mental health, and the quiet strength of self-compassion. Built in a stripped-back collage animation style, it uses image, text and movement to communicate a message many young people need to hear: You are not alone, and you are enough.
The Concept
A Style That Reflects the Story
Deliverables:
- Hero Animation
The film opens with a stark message: words have power. The things people say about our bodies — even in passing — can stay with us far longer than we realise. That power, especially when internalised, can start to affect our mental health. And when our mental health suffers, it often shows up in our physical wellbeing too. It’s a cycle, and it’s easy to fall into. The animation doesn’t shy away from this. But it also shows a way through. Visually, the piece is deliberately minimal — set against a clean white background, the black-and-white collaged photography gives the film a raw, honest feel. Overlaid on this are soft MAP blue and green illustrations that guide the eye and add warmth, movement and flow.
This kind of bold-yet-sensitive creative direction is exactly what our animated video service is built for — helping organisations explore complex topics with care and clarity.

Production
From Spiral to Shift
The second half of the film focuses on the turn: the small shifts that help break the negative cycle. From mindfulness to body positivity, from celebrating tiny wins to surrounding yourself with healthier influences — these are the tools the film gently suggests, without preaching or pretending there’s a one-size-fits-all fix. It ends on a note of self-acceptance. Of taking time. Of showing yourself the same kindness you’d offer a friend.

Final Thoughts
At Meantime Studio, we believe that the right animated video service can give weight to sensitive stories without overwhelming the viewer. Working with MAP on this project meant helping amplify a message that is often missing from mainstream health narratives: that mental and physical wellbeing are deeply connected, and that how we speak about our bodies — to others and ourselves — matters. It’s a film that doesn’t shout, but it stays with you. And sometimes, that’s exactly what’s needed.
If you’re looking for an animated video service that brings empathy, originality and purpose to the screen — we’re ready when you are.
